ROSES-24 Amendments to F.5 FINESST: SMD’s Graduate Student Research Opportunity

The most important change is the proposal due date for F.5 FINESST has been delayed to February 26, 2025.

F.5 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) solicits proposals for graduate student-designed and performed research projects relevant to NASA’s Science Mission Direc-torate. The pdf file with the name that begins “F.5 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology–…” is located at https://go.nasa.gov/FINESST24 on the right side of the page immediately above the section called “Other Documents”.

This Amendment makes several changes to F.5 FINESST:

Sections 2.1 and 2.6 have been updated to conform with Executive Orders posted at White House Presidential Actions
References to the review criterion in Section 4.1.4 are updated to match corrections made on January 22.
Charts from the Earth Science Division second Office Hours on January 22nd, are available under “Other Documents” at https://go.nasa.gov/FINESST24

Other updates include:

• Corrections to the review criteria in Sections 5.2.1 and 5.2.3
• Section 4.1.6 has been clarified regarding optional biosketches for any mentor who is not the PI.
• The checklist in Section 10 has been updated.
• Changes to account creation and management.
• Other unexpected technical challenges for those who want to request the optional NASA High End Computing resources are found in textbox at the very end of Section 4.2, and Section 12.28 “How do I generate a request for HEC Resources”.

New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through.
