Best Practices for Data Publication in the Astronomical Literature | Saturday, January 6th, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm EST

Do you want your data to be more discoverable and usable in future presentations? Don’t we all?

Come to the Best Practices for Publishing your Astronomical Data Workshop on Jan 6, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm at the AAS meeting in Louisiana. This hands-on session is based on the multi-archive publication on Best Practices for Data Publication in the Astronomical Literature (Chen et al. 2022). We will have a panel of representatives from major archives that like to host your data! including CDS (Mark Allen, CDS) and NITARP/IRSA (Luisa Rebull) as well as a AAS Data Editor (Gus Muench, AAS Journals) and a friendly typical professional astronomer adapting to modern tools (Rachael Beaton, STScI). We’ll work through common misconceptions about how data is entered into these archives and the common pitfalls of data publishing as well as answering your questions!
